Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

Recently, I was asked to create some samples for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The event is a casual event and my customer wanted something with a little pop to it. I made a variety of samples varying from the wedding theme to fun BBQ invitations. Here are the samples. Which one did they choose?

SC EdTech 2011

I have to admit, I didn’t expect to find myself in Myrtle Beach at the end of October for SC EdTech this year but I’m here. So with that in mind this year I am pretending I have never been to this conference before in hopes that it wows me in some way.

One thing I am excited about is that I am here with my R2 team. I work with a great group of ladies and I’m looking forward to getting to know them a little better. We are presenting tomorrow so if you get the opportunity and you are at the conference come by M119 at 1:00 for The Cloud is Your Classroom.

I’m going to try to post about the conference while I’m here. I’ll definitely be on Twitter @msansonettiwood.

List for Santa in a mini album

Last week I was at a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators meeting and Sonia (a fellow demo) showed us how to create this adorable Gratitude mini album.

I love it and decided to take it to another holiday. I wanted something my step daughter could fill out for a Christmas list that we can turn in to a keepsake. I love the way it turned out.

I made a number of tabs to fill each pocket. Each tab has a different “starter” on it to give a little thought to asking for things for Christmas. “Good things I have done this year.” “One fun memory from this year.” “One thing I want to do better next year” “Tell one way you helped someone.” “Name 1 thing you REALLY want.” “My Christmas list for Santa” “Who am I?” (The last one is a little about the child for the keepsake: name, age, things she likes.)

Each page of the album is decorated a little different to have fun with the holiday season.

Halloween Boxes

Today I decided to make a few Halloween Boxes that my friend Debbie showed me how to make about a week ago. The boxes were featured in a Stampin’ Up! publication and are the cutest things ever! What a great idea for an adult Halloween party or have a few to pass out at work on Halloween. Just a little something to say Happy Halloween.

I made this set for a friend of mine at church. I found out last week he LOVES Halloween. So what a better way to say Happy Halloween than with a bag of these great pop-up boxes. I hope to surprise him on Sunday!

When you open the box … you get a piece of candy that pops out with a message. I could imagine these being adapted for any holiday. They are just adorable.

All day crafting….

Today was an amazing day. I was able to work in my craft shack ALL day. This morning I worked on a couple orders but this afternoon I was able to play and create some prototypes. I think my favorite thing of the day was a Match Box mini album. I didn’t get it completely finished but I am happy with it’s progress. This is a great Grandma, mother, or sister gift. When you open the matchbook it has about 4 sheets in it. This one has separate sheets.  I haven’t adorned it with photos yet but this is the basic format. You can also create the matchbook to have a bound book in it.

Today I also decided to try a halloween bat that I saw at a Regional Conference. It’s my first one and I have to tweak it a little but if you are interested in any for your children please contact me today!

Do you have a favorite paper crafting company?

I wonder how loyal paper crafters are to their companies and why. For example, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Stampin’ Up! Paper, ink, and stamps. 95% of everything I create is made using their products. Sometimes I wonder if I am missing out on other products. I do own a Cricut(C) expressions, Sizzix Die cutting maching, and a Bind it all so the options I have for creating are limitless.

Recently, I have taken a liking to Tim Horton’s line of products… I like the stains, Sizzix dies, embossing folders and some of the stamps. They are all very vintage. I think I might have to try creating with some of his product soon.

What are your favorites and why do you love them?

My Wedding

My husband and I were engaged in February and married in May. With that short 3 months to plan a wedding I decided to take on making my own invites. We were going to have a casual wedding so I thought it would be fun to create colorful invites with different papers. I ended up creating 10 different designs of the same card.

I loved making the invitations and ended up having a few girls nights to help me finish them. This ended up leading to whole series of homemade items for the wedding. I created “Family Tree” centerpieces for the reception. I got the idea from The Knot but put my own twist on it. We put photos from both of our families on magnolia branches in mason jars with river rock. I also created a gift/memory book. I used my Bind-it-All for the book and it turned out great! Finally to keep in line with the color scheme I created “Thank you” postcards to send out for gifts.

The biggest compliment I received from the wedding is that it was completely us. From the invitations to the service to the reception. It was all about family fun and CHOCOLATE. We decided to not have a wedding cake… we got a chocolate fountain instead.
